About Valle del Sol Gardens
Hi, I’m Alexandra Ziegler.
I’m the grower behind Valle del Sol Gardens. I'm originally from West Texas, where home gardening wasn’t really the norm. That changed when I moved to the Yakima Valley in 2016 to begin my first teaching job as a high school math teacher. Teaching is my main career, but over time, I also discovered a deep love for growing things.
It started with vegetables, herbs, and a couple of potted flowers in 2022. But everything shifted when I began planning my fall 2024 wedding. I ambitiously decided to grow all the flowers for the big day myself. I researched like crazy, mapped out sowing dates, and learned a lot from past mistakes. Some flowers were trickier than others, but by the end of the season, I knew I wasn’t done. I wanted to keep going.
I still have a lot to learn, and I’m slowly expanding the varieties I grow. Starting Valle del Sol Gardens is just the beginning of something new. My hope is to share my love of gardening with others and offer the simple joy of a fresh-cut bouquet.
The name Valle del Sol is a nod to the sunny valley I now call home, and a blend of my roots and the place that sparked this journey.
